Open Access
offers innovative software specifically designed to assist judges
and other judicial officers in effectively and expeditiously managing
their ever-increasing caseloads. Electronically filed and scanned
documents are accessible to judicial officers via eICMS
at any time of any day and from any personal computer.
Open Access
is integrated with ISD Corporation's eICMS,
and is programmed to ascertain which cases are scheduled for a hearing
or other court appearance on a judicial officer's upcoming calendar.
The software performs an automated sweep of the case data in eICMS,
retrieves all relevant information the judicial officer needs to
review.
As
a judicial officer is reviewing a case, he or she is able to make
notes regarding the case - a feature useful for legal research attorneys
and law clerks as well. This eliminates the need to share one paper
file and enables research attorneys and law clerks to transmit their
case notes to a judicial officer prior to his or her review of the
case. This 'note' feature is especially useful in court at the time
of a hearing. Judicial officers can refer to their notes while the
matter is pending and the attorneys are present in court.
Open Access
allows for easy viewing of a court docket, allowing judicial officers
to determine quickly if a document has been filed by a party and
at what time. This feature helps eliminate continuances of hearings
due to a filed document not being placed in the court's paper file,
because a party claims to have filed a document that is not yet
in the court file or in instances that the court file cannot be
located.
Open Access,
which is fully integrated with ISD Corporation's other eICMS
products and designed specifically for judicial officers, legal
research attorneys and law clerks, is unsurpassed by any other software
product available.
